Media Conference - 3 November 2017

Celebrating 30 years of giving, The Boys’ Brigade Share-a-Gift (BBSG) returns this Christmas season to bring cheer to the underprivileged Singaporeans.  This year, BBSG aims to make a difference to the lives of 42,296 beneficiaries. On 3 November 2017, BBSG Media Conference was held at Fei Yue Senior Activity Centre (Hougang) to raise awareness about the project and appeal members of the public to support and reach out to the highest number of beneficiaries ever since the project’s inception. The project will be held from 21 November to 18 December 2017.

During the Media Conference, it was also announced from 21 November till 18 December, NTUC FairPrice Foundation will donate $5 for every sticker pledge pasted on the BBSG Pledge Boards, located at 12 participating FairPrice stores. The donations will go up to a maximum of $75,000. Mr Jonas Kor (Director, Corporate Communications and Brand of NTUC FairPrice Co-Operative Limited), Ms Sheela Parakkal (Chief Human Resources Officer of Prudential Singapore), Mr Lui Chong Chee (Chairman of BBSG 2017), BB Boy, Parent and Mr Poh Leong Berg (Brigade President) were invited to paste the first sticker pledge on one of the boards.

In line with BBSG’s efforts to spread year-end festive cheer, 12 elderly beneficiaries from Fei Yue Senior Activity Centre (Hougang) had their Christmas wishes fulfilled in advance by The Boys’ Brigade in Singapore and participated in art and craft activities with BB Boys and their parents.

The event was filled with love and joy as the Boys and Parents interacted with the elderly beneficiaries. We look forward to kick start this meaningful project along with our sponsors and officials to bring smiles to the needy this Christmas season!
